The year ahead
This is a year when you can easily be left helpless by unexpected events. It's hard to find your bearings, like losing your way in a wind full of tigers' roars. Don't start things like drifting clouds with a head but no tail, and don't strain to stop people who are leaving.
This year, you may easily have to let go for a while in the face of unexpected storms. The first line, storms rising over harsh ground with no way to act, means that when something beyond your power happens, don't force your grip; watch the flow. Losing your way at Yinling amid a tiger's roar and wind borrows the tale of an ancient general who took the wrong road and met ruin, warning you not to rush when choosing a direction. The drifting cloud with a head but no tail means things with a noisy start and no finish, so hold on only to what you can see through. The line about not knowing who is leaving means it's easy to grow careless of the bonds beside you, but just as the wild goose of Changsha escapes disaster, those who are careful end up safe. In the first half, financial losses and gossip continue, but from the seventh lunar month the energy shifts: calamity fades and blessings rise. In the ninth and eleventh lunar months too, a bright moon rises, with little ill and much good, so the heart of this reading is enduring the first half. The stronger the wind, the lower you should keep yourself, and even drifting clouds will finally clear.
