The original verse and its meaning

1. 雪裡寒梅 獨帶春光
   The winter plum blooming in the snow alone wears the light of spring.
2. 日落靑山 寃心自退
   As the sun sets beyond the green mountains, resentment withdraws of its own accord.
3. 寶馬金鞍 御史花光
   A golden saddle on a treasured horse, you shine like a flower, like a royal inspector's procession.
4. 風淸月白 豈不美哉
   The wind is clear and the moon is white, so how could it not be beautiful?

3. Lunar month 3Apr 7 – May 5Care

   There's a lot of coming and going and your mind scatters easily this month. The busier you are, the more you must focus on one thing to make fewer mistakes.

   精神一到 何事不成 出入東北 偶然橫財 · Gather your spirit in one place and what could you not achieve? Going to and from the northeast, they say, brings a chance windfall.

4. Lunar month 4May 6 – Jun 4Care

   You need staying power this month. Even when it's hard, don't quit now; endure day by day and the way will soon appear.

   目前困苦 堅忍爲上 莫近木姓 橫厄可侵 · What's before your eyes is hard, so firm endurance is best. Get close to a Wood (木) surname and unexpected trouble may strike.

5. Lunar month 5Jun 5 – Jul 3Even

   This is a steady month when what you need is filled evenly. Rather than getting greedy because things are going well, do only as much as you can handle.

   天有甘雨 地湧甘泉 於農於商 度力而行 · Sweet rain falls from heaven and sweet springs rise from the earth. Whether farming or trading, act within your strength.

6. Lunar month 6Jul 4 – Aug 1Even

   If you lean on a method that once worked and hope for the same result, you'll easily be disappointed this month. Gratefully cherish past successes and calmly think up new approaches.

   得意之地 不可再往 在家有吉 莫出路上 · Returning to a place where you once achieved your aim is not good. Staying home is auspicious, so don't set out on the road.

7. Lunar month 7Aug 2 – Aug 31Even

   Like fruit forming where flowers fell, your efforts return as substance this month. Income grows and the results of your work become tangible.

   財運方盛 財祿隨身 東園紅桃 花落結實 · Financial fortune is now flourishing, so wealth and rewards follow you. The red peach blossoms in the eastern garden fall and bear fruit.

8. Lunar month 8Sep 1 – Sep 29Bright

   You become well off through what you've built yourself this month. Work you've done diligently leads to a good reputation.

   耕田而食 鑿井而飮 聲聞高閣 喜滿家庭 · You till the field to eat and dig the well to drink. Good reports reach even the tall pavilion, so joy fills the home.

9. Lunar month 9Sep 30 – Oct 28Even

   After a long wait, results begin to appear this month. Even if results come late, don't be impatient.

   垂釣滄波 終得多魚 千年蟠桃 始結其子 · Casting your line in the blue waves, you finally catch many fish. The pantao peach that ripens once in a thousand years at last bears fruit.

10. Lunar month 10Oct 29 – Nov 27Bright

    A blocked road opens up refreshingly this month. There will be recognition and praise, and a benefactor's help follows.

    乘槎渡海 雲散日明 一身榮貴 人人仰視 · Crossing the sea on a raft, the clouds clear and the sun shines bright. You are honored and noble and people look up to you.

11. Lunar month 11Nov 28 – Dec 27Even

    Your labors are rewarded one by one this month. Work you've been steadily advancing moves toward fruition.

    淘沙成金 百謀進就 苦盡甘來 困久則亨 · Panning sand you gain gold, and all your plans move forward. When hardship ends sweetness comes, and what is long blocked opens at last.

12. Lunar month 12Dec 28 – Jan 26, 2028Even

    You close the year with renewing energy this month. Making plans with the people you work with promises good results.

    天降雨澤 萬物含新 與人謀事 可得千金 · Heaven sends the grace of rain and all things are renewed. In ventures planned together with others, you can gain a thousand in gold.
