The year ahead
This is a year when you meet your moment as much as you've prepared for it. There are times you feel stifled like a fish in shallow water, but they don't last long. You build merit by piling up small things, so the start is hard and the rest is easy. Every season is good, like spring orchids and autumn chrysanthemums in a warm breeze.
This is a year when you meet your time in proportion to how well you've prepared. As in the first line, if you look ahead early and prepare, glory and honor arrive in good time. The fish in shallow water of the second line means a cramped situation, but it hasn't left the water, so it can soon head into wider waters. Who gets this hexagram?
The hexagram depends on your lunar birth date and the year being read. The upper number comes from your Korean age that year plus the year's taese number, the middle from the length and month number of your birth month that year, and the lower from your birth day plus the day number. So the same person gets a different hexagram each year.
