The year ahead
This is a smooth year if you keep to a sensible middle line. Even in a jade tower in late spring, there's a worry or two. Rest comfortably over a jug of wine and settle your heart as if tuning a zither from Shu, and you'll move into a valued position on a warm breeze.
This is a comfortable year if you keep to moderation. The first line, crossing a long river whose water is neither shallow nor deep, means a road that's neither very dangerous nor very easy. If you pace your steps, neither too much nor too little, you can cross safely. The jade pavilion deep in spring in the second line shows something splendid and comfortable on the outside while one worry remains inside. Even in moments others envy, you must know how to look after your own heart. The third line is a scene of resting your heart with a measure of wine and a zither while tuning its strings. It means rest is preparation too, so soothe your tired heart and prepare for what's next. The warm wind and phoenix stairs of the last line are a promise that someone who has tuned their heart this way will finally rise to a noble position. Just be careful in the first, eighth and eleventh lunar months, and the end is warm.

朱雀發動 必有口舌 莫聽甘言 恩反爲仇 · Jujak, the Vermilion Bird of the south, stirs, so there may be gossip. Don't listen to sweet words; kindness turns into enmity instead.

捉蟹放水 世事如雲 財數論之 初吉後凶 · You catch a crab and release it into the water, so the world's affairs are like clouds. In matters of wealth, it's auspicious at first and ill later.

在家則吉 出行有害 逆水行舟 勞而無功 · Staying home is auspicious and going out brings harm. Rowing a boat against the current, your efforts earn no merit.

In the seventh lunar month some matters are all noise and no substance. Before starting, weigh whether something is really worth doing.
事多虛慌 終無功効 財旺北方 事有西方 · There's much emptiness in your affairs, so in the end there's no merit. Wealth flourishes in the north and work lies in the west.

The eighth lunar month is a month to look after your body first. If you feel tired or show signs of pain, don't push through; immediately cut back on work and rest.
