The year ahead
Even when you achieve something, it can easily go unrecognized and leave you hurt. You may be so tired that, as the sun sets, you want to shut your door. Even if twenty years feel like an autumn wind, clear blessings won't come unless you keep working diligently.
This is a year when hurt feelings easily arise because you're not recognized for your efforts. The first verse, about the hunting dog being discarded once the hare is caught, speaks of the pain of being sidelined after accomplishing something. But as the second verse says not to bar the door even when the sun sets, you mustn't close the door of your heart. The verse saying twenty years passed like the west wind shows that the time you've lived may feel empty, but it also means not to linger in that emptiness. The last verse says pure blessings come only when you strive diligently, so this year's answer is diligence. In spring you may be disappointed by someone you trusted or harmed behind your back, so be careful. In the tenth month, bright news awaits, like joy after hardship. If you don't let hurt grow into resentment and keep walking quietly, you'll get through the year safely.
