The year ahead
Unexpected uproar comes easily, so keep a firm grip on your money. The best plan is to close your door, keep quiet and stay out of disputes. You may want to climb, but it isn't the time, so wait.
This is a year when unexpected commotion easily cuts into a daily life that looks calm. The first verse's waves on level ground mean startling things happen where it seems nothing would, so manage your money and contracts more firmly than usual. The second verse teaches that if you shut your door and live quietly, you won't get dragged into quarrels and lawsuits. Strengthening things from within rather than launching big outside ventures is the best course this year. The headless, tailless dragon of the third verse lacks foundation and support, so it can't find its moment even when it tries to rise — put off overambitious promotions or expansions to next year. The fourth verse says that unless you produce results worth announcing, you'll easily end up empty-handed, so focus on one result with real substance, however small. It's an unlucky reading, but just as the original also has a verse about a woodcutter's boy showing the way to a traveler who asks, the way opens for those who humbly ask. Hold steady quietly and wait calmly, and this year's storms will end as a passing wind.
