As in the first verse, a dreary rain suddenly falls from a clear sky, so the smoother things are, the more you should prepare, as if packing an umbrella. The second verse says one of three departs, meaning someone among those you've been with may drift away. Rather than clinging to a departing connection, cherish the ones that remain all the more. The silent regrets of the third verse warn of unspoken hurt piling up, so rather than keeping it bottled up, you need to practice expressing it gently. The mad wind after the flowers fall in the fourth verse means difficulties may not end all at once, but the wind always passes in the end. It's an unlucky reading, but in early and mid-autumn there's a bright stretch when lucky spirits help and money comes in from the south. Trust the original's words that things are bad first and better later, hold on, and you'll see clear skies again.
