The year ahead
Opportunities arise out in the world rather than in familiar places. Your restless heart may drift like a cloud with neither head nor tail, so settle on a single goal. The southeast is favorable.
This is a year when you can breathe more freely out in the world than in familiar places. As in the first verse, home feels stifling and only going out puts your heart at ease, so new environments and outside activities revive your energy. Dongting Lake and the Xiang River in the second verse are the faraway landscapes the ancients longed for, meaning your heart is restless and turned toward distant places. The third verse speaks of a cloud with neither head nor tail, a warning against dabbling in this and that without finishing anything. The fourth verse points the direction, saying benefit lies to the southeast, so if you settle on one goal and direction, your restless heart becomes a strength. In the first half, there's the joy of gathering small things into something big and profit from trade. But as autumn arrives, disputes and blockages follow one after another, so it's good to drop stubbornness and keep a low profile. Money luck returns at year's end, so if you know how to be content, you'll close the year in peace.
